Junior Kelly Voigt (Palatine, Ill./Fremd) carded a 1-over par round of 73 and is in second place, one shot behind Allison Mitzel of Youngstown State, after two days of the Horizon League Women’s Golf Championship at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
Valparaiso tallied a team score of 312 in Saturday’s second round. That score was the third-best team score of the day. The Crusaders are in fourth place with a total of 633. Detroit leads with a score of 615.
Voigt recorded two birdies on the round, one at the par-3 2nd and one at the par-5 13th. Her total score of 149 is one shot behind Mitzel.
She is one shot in front of Loyola’s April Ohlendorf. Her second-round score of 73 was the third-best round turned in on the day.
Junior Brianna Davy (Schererville, Ind./Lake Central) posted a score of 78 in the second round. She made three birdies in her round, and is tied for 11th with a score of 159.
Junior Michelle Kleckner (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) shot 80 on Saturday and is tied for 15th with a total of 161.
Junior Erika Pfaender (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead) is tied for 21st with a two-round total of 164.
Sophomore A.J. Selig (Hortonville, Wis./Appleton West) is tied for 29th with a total of 172.
