Valparaiso University women’s golf coach Mike Higdon has announced the additions of Alyssa Cameron and Michelle Kleckner to the Crusader roster for this upcoming fall season.

Cameron is from Warsaw High School in Warsaw, Ind.  She earned a trip to the 2009 Indiana High School Girls State Tournament and has played in numerous junior tournaments throughout Indiana.

“Alyssa has a lot of potential and upside,” Higdon said.  “We are going to focus on getting her consistent and then things will really start to build with her.”

Kleckner is a native of New Brighton, Minn. and played her prep golf at Irondale High School.  She finished 39th in the Minnesota state championship as a sophomore and has won numerous junior tournaments throughout the state of Wisconsin.

“I am excited to add Michelle to the roster,” Higdon said.  “She has a proven track record both in the classroom as well as on the golf course.  I am looking forward to Michelle stepping right in and competing for a position in the top five from day one.”

Valpo will begin the fall season Sept. 13-14 in Green Bay, Wis. at the Green Bay Lady Phoenix Fall Classic.

“I am looking forward to getting this season started in Green Bay,” Higdon concluded.  “This program is definitely going to make a big leap from last year and we look forward to continuing to build this program.”
