Valparaiso women's golf head coach Mat Blair announced today that Sydney Shrum (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) has signed a National Letter of Intent and will be joining the Crusader women's golf program beginning with the 2013-2014 season.

Shrum comes to Valpo from Cloverdale H.S., where she qualified for the state finals this year in just her second year of competitive golf. Shrum shot rounds of 79 and 78 in the state tournament to finish in a tie for 22nd position.

"We are really excited about Sydney joining our family here at Valpo," said Blair. "Sydney has a tremendous amount of room for growth in her game. Her upside has no end, and she will definitely be an asset for our growth as a team moving forward. We look forward to Sydney making an impact in the Valpo community."
