Crusaders Finish Middle Round at Golfweek Program Challenge Monday

The Valparaiso Crusaders women’s golf team wrapped up round two of the Golfweek Challenge at Caledonia G.C. in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Monday afternoon.

The Crusaders currently sit in 16th after shooting a combined 320 on the day. Senior Sibil Gill (Kokomo, Ind./Western)  leads the Crusaders after shooting a 76 for the second straight day, tying her for 28th with a 152 (+10).

Junior Angie Kim (Schaumberg, Ill./Fremd) closed out round two shooting an 81, putting her total at 163 through two days. One shot behind Kim sits a pair of Crusaders in freshman Kylie Shoemake and junior Sydney Shrum. Shoemake shot a 79 on the day, six shots better than round one, while Shrum shot an 83 on Monday.

Freshman Madison McCreary rounded out the women’s club shooting a 90 on the day, giving her a total of 172 after two rounds.

Campbell University leads the tournament after shooting a 287 on the day, seven shots better than the previous day, to sit at 581 through 36 holes.
