Women’s Golf Tops Oakland, Takes Third at Motor City Cup

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team closed out a successful week of competition by defeating host Oakland in match play on Monday at the Motor City Cup at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. Valpo put together a strong showing throughout the event, winning two of its three matches to take third in the eight-team field. The Brown & Gold bested the Golden Grizzlies 4.0-2.0 in Monday’s third-place match.


Women’s Golf Tops Loyola in Match Play to Start Spring

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team teed off the spring season on Sunday, competing in two rounds of match play at the Motor City Cup in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. at Mission Inn Resort & Club. Valpo started the spring on a positive note, topping Missouri Valley Conference mate Loyola 3.5-2.5 to start the event. Valpo went on to give IUPUI all it could handle in the semifinal round, but fell 4.0-2.0.


Carly Schiene to Join Valpo Women’s Golf Program

The Valparaiso University women’s golf program has announced that current high school senior Carly Schiene (Mokena, Ill. / Lincoln Way Central) has signed to join the team for the 2020-2021 academic and athletic year.


Women’s Golf Boasts Two Top-10 Finishers at Braun Intercollegiate

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team rounded out its fall season on Tuesday, competing in the Braun Intercollegiate hosted by Evansville at Oak Meadow Country Club. After inclement weather hit the area on Monday, the event was shortened to one 18-hole round. A pair of Valpo players finished in the Top 10 on the individual leaderboard.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team was slated to open up the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate on Monday at Oak Meadow Country Club in Evansville, Ind., but Mother Nature had other ideas.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team made a seven-stroke improvement from its Round 1 score on the second and final day of the Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. Sophomore Payton Hodson (Middleton, Wis. / Middleton) boasted the team’s top round on Tuesday.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team began the penultimate event of the fall season on Monday, golfing 18 holes to open up the Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. Senior Kayla Krueger (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) closed out a Top 10 finish as the Valparaiso University women’s golf team put together a Top 5 showing at the F&M Bank Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate hosted at Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn. Valpo fended off North Alabama by three stokes on Tuesday to nail down the fifth-place finish.

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team enjoyed a strong first day at the F&M Bank Austin Peay State University Intercollegiate in Clarksville, Tenn. on Monday. Entering the tournament’s third and final round, Valpo is in the top five among participating teams, while senior Kayla Krueger (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) has put herself in position to try to close out a Top 10 finish.


Women’s Golf Closes Out MVC Fall Preview

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team rounded out its first look at Spirit Hollow Golf Course, the home of the 2020 MVC Championship, in Burlington, Iowa. In Round 3, the Brown & Gold were led by Cailey Rooker (St. Joseph, Mich. / St. Joseph), who had her second sub-80 round in as many tournaments.

Women’s Golf Sets Program Record in Season-Opening Tournament

The second season under head coach Jill McCoy began on a high note for the Valparaiso University women’s golf team at this week’s Loyola Fall Invitational, hosted at Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill. Valpo’s 54-hole team score in relation to par shattered a program record that had stood for over five years by four strokes, while senior Kayla Krueger (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) established a new individual program record for 54-hole score in relation to par.

Valpo enters the tournament’s final day in sixth in the team standings with Kayla Krueger (Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake) off to a strong start to her senior season to lead the way.


Women’s Golf Locks In 2019-2020 Slate

Valparaiso University women’s golf coach Jill McCoy has announced her team’s schedule for the 2019-2020 season. The slate features five fall tournaments and five spring events.
