Women’s Golf Locks In 2019-2020 Slate
Tiffany Curtis is one of two seniors on this year's team.

Valparaiso University women’s golf coach Jill McCoy has announced her team’s schedule for the 2019-2020 season. The slate features five fall tournaments and five spring events.

The season will open with a 54-hole event hosted by Missouri Valley Conference foe Loyola on Monday, Sept. 16 and Tuesday, Sept. 17. This will mark the third straight year Valpo has participated in the Loyola Fall Invitational, which is held at Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, Ill.

The MVC Fall Preview (Sept. 23-24) is next on the slate, as Valpo joins its MVC compatriots for a first look at the home course of the 2020 league championship. This year’s event will be hosted by UNI at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington, Iowa.

The team will make its way to Clarksville, Tenn. for its first appearance in the Austin Peay State Fall Invitational on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Clarksville Country Club. That will be followed by the Dayton Fall Invitational at NCR Country Club, a 36-hole event on Oct. 14-15. Valpo will participate in that tournament for the first time since 2014.

The Braun Intercollegiate will consist of 36 holes over two days on Oct. 21-22 at Oak Meadow Country Club in Evansville, Ind. The tournament has become a fixture on Valpo’s slate as this will mark the program’s eighth consecutive appearance.

The spring season will begin with the Motor City Invite for the second straight year. The 54-hole match play event will be held at Mission Inn Resort & Club’s Las Colinas Golf Course in Howey-In-The-Hills, Fla. on Feb. 9-10. The team will return to action a month later with the Benbow Collegiate Tournament, which is comprised of 36 holes at Jacksonville Beach Golf Course in Jacksonville, Fla. on March 9-10. Valpo will partake for the fifth time and first since 2018.

The Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate will make its debut on Valpo’s schedule on March 15-17 with 18 holes occurring on each day of the three-day tournament. It will be held at Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. The ISU Spring Invitational will occur at Terre Haute CC on April 5-6, with Valpo included in the field for the second consecutive season. The 36-hole event hosted by the Sycamores will be the final tune-up for the MVC Championship at Spirit Hollow. The three-day, 54-hole extravaganza begins on Sunday, April 19 in Burlington, Iowa.
