Valpo Drops 1-0 Decision at Centenary

Rebecca Swilley scored 15 minutes into the match and that proved to be the lone goal of the match as Centenary defeated Valparaiso 1-0 on Friday evening in Shreveport, La.

Swilley lofted a shot over Valpo goalkeeper Erin Murray (Pleasanton, Calif./Amador Valley H.S.) at the 15:07 mark after receiving a pass from Kylie Garrett for the lone tally of the match.

Valpo outshot the Ladies 11-8 for the contest and forced Centenary goalkeeper Lindsey Stafford to make five saves in goal. Murray made just one stop for the Brown and Gold.

Valpo also earned four corner kicks in the match, while Centenary tallied three.

With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-5-1 overall and 0-2 in Mid-Continent Conference action. Centenary improves to 7-3-1 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Valpo will head to Denton, Texas on Sunday afternoon for a 1 p.m. match against North Texas.
