Audra Frericks goal and two assists for Eastern Illinois helped lead the Panthers to a 4-1 victory over Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon in Charleston, Ill.

Frericks put the Panthers on the board at the 34:46 mark and Terri Master added another goal three minutes later to give Eastern Illinois a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Lori Moore (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) cut the lead in half at the 53:52 mark as Lindsay Holley (Waldorf, Md./Westlake H.S.) drew the assist.

Frericks then assisted on a pair of Beth Liesen goals, the first just 1:52 after Valpo got on the board to put the match out of reach.

Eastern Illinois (5-6-1) outshot Valpo 17-8 for the match and held a 5-4 advantage on corner kicks. Kristen Templin (Madison, Wis./Middleton H.S.) made four saves in the first half for the Brown and Gold, while Danielle Guerra (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) played the second stanza for Valpo.

Valparaiso (3-6-1) will return to action on Friday afternoon when the Crusaders host Southern Utah in a Mid-Continent Conference contest. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Eastgate Field.
