Manski Earns Second League Honor of Season
Kristen Manski earned her second league weekly honor on Monday.

Valparaiso senior goalkeeper Kristen Manski (St. Charles, Ill./North) was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after helping lead the Crusaders to a key league victory at Youngstown State last Saturday.

Manski posted her second straight shutout in Saturday's victory, making four saves while handling her area well in keeping the Penguins off the board in the 2-0 win. The shutout was her eighth clean sheet of the season, just two off the single-season program record which she shares, while it was also Manski's 30th career shutout, second-most in Horizon League history.

In addition to her work in goal on Saturday, Manski also contributed on the offensive end. Up 1-0 in the 57th minute, the senior made a save and then boomed a punt down the field, a pass which eventually resulted in the Crusaders' insurance tally. Manski was credited with the secondary assist on the goal for her first career point.

Manski and the rest of the Crusaders look to earn another three points on Saturday when they travel to Detroit for a 3 p.m. CT kickoff.
