Valpo Women’s Soccer to Host Pair of Summer Camps

Valparaiso University women’s soccer head coach John Marovich and the Valpo women’s soccer program will host a pair of summer camps in the coming months. The program will host a Youth Camp June 17-19, open to girls and boys ages 6-14, and will also host an Elite ID Camp July 20 for girls in grades 9-12.

The Youth Day Camp features training sessions developed to enhance each player’s technical skills and tactical awareness in a safe and challenging environment. Sessions are conducted to meet the needs of each group and skill level. Beginning, intermediate, and/or advanced players will be challenged at their own pace. The camp utilizes the game’s skills - passing, receiving, dribbling, and shooting. Campers will be grouped according to age and then on ability as the week progresses; assuring the challenge of learning new skills and tactics.

The Elite ID Camp features a morning training session, followed by a pair of 50-minute games in the afternoon. These sessions are designed with soccer-specific functional movements (speed and agility), technical skills, small sided games and 11v11 tactics. Separate goalkeeper training is available. This camp is intended to provide high quality training, teach campers about the demands of collegiate soccer, and give an on-campus view of the Valparaiso University women's soccer program.

The Youth Day Camp runs from 9 a.m. until noon June 17-19, and costs $99. The ID Camp runs from 8 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. July 20, and costs $120. For more information on either camp, or to register, visit https://womens.valposoccervip.com/.
