Crusaders Swept by Miami and Xavier

The Valparaiso women's swimming and diving team dropped a pair of decisions on Saturday afternoon in Oxford, Ohio. The Crusaders fell to Miami (Ohio) 16-590 and Xavier 152.5-100.5.

Britt Nelson led the Brown and Gold with a pair of third place finishes. She placed third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.53, then came back to finish in the same place in the 500 free (5:17.95).

Katie Urbas tallied a pair of fourth place finishes for Valpo. Her 200 butterfly time of 2:16.00 earned her the first fourth place finish, followed by a time of 1:01.70 in the 100 fly.

Leah Schneider finished fourth in the 100 free, touching the wall in 56.49 seconds, while Amanda Banholzer earned the same place in the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:03.00.

The Crusaders will return to the pool on December 5-7 when the Brown and Gold travel to the Mid-Continent Conference Championships, to be held in Rochester, Mich. Oakland will serve as the host institution.
