Valparaiso set a new school record in the 400 medley relay on Friday evening, but it was not enough as the Crusaders dropped a 135-92 decision to Green Bay in Green Bay, Wis.

The team of Shaunna Dangremond (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino H.S.), Amy Andracki (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect H.S.), Rachel Majercik (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant H.S.), and Jaclyn Krause (Rochester, Mich./Notre Dame Prep H.S.) finished with a winning time of 4:03.77, a victory by nearly three seconds.  The team also bettered the old school record of 4:04.26 set during the 1995 season.

“It is exciting to set a new record in the middle of the season, head coach Bryan Morrison said.  “This is the second record we have already set this season (200 medley relay).”

Grace Arnold (Glendora, Calif./Glendora H.S.) also posted an individual victory for the Brown and Gold on the evening, winning the 500 freestyle.  The freshman touched the wall in 5:20.83, notching a three second triumph.

Becky Crabtree (Mason, Ohio/Mason H.S.) finished runner-up for Valpo in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.84 seconds, just .25 seconds off of the pace.  For the freshman it was a season’s best.
