            Valparaiso registered its second dual meet victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Butler 135-57 in Carmel, Ind.  The Crusaders also dropped a 130-66 decision to Saint Louis and a 116-80 meet against Evansville in the quadrangular competition.

            Rachel Majercik (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant H.S.) won the 50 freestyle for the Crusaders with a time of 25.04 seconds, edging out teammate Becky Crabtree (Mason, Ohio/Mason H.S.) by just .03 seconds.  Majercik also finished third in the 100 free with a time of 54.76 seconds.

            Grace Arnold (Glendora, Calif./Glendora H.S.) and Stephanie Ferschl (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago H.S.) finished second and third respectively in the 1,000 freestyle.  Arnold touched the wall in 11:03.85 with Arnold less than 10 seconds behind.  Arnold also finished third in the 500 free with a time of 5:21.57.

            Amy Andracki (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect H.S.) earned a runner-up finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:29.58 while Jaclyn Krause (Rochester, Mich./Notre Dame Prep H.S.) finished third in the 200 free with a season’s best time of 2:01.00.

            Valparaiso (2-3) will face Wright State next Saturday in its home opener at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.  The first event begins at 11 a.m.
