Valpo Women's Swimming Downed by Cleveland State

Valparaiso’s women’s swim team suffered a 126-73 setback to Cleveland State on Friday afternoon at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.

Stephanie Ferschl (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago H.S.) earned a second  place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:26.36.

Natalie Jarrett (Lebanon, Ind./Western Boone H.S.) finished runner-up for the Brown and Gold in the 200 individual medley, posting a mark of 2:17.93.  She also had the second best mark in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:10.34.

Justine Barnes (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams H.S.) added a second place effort in the 100 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:03.74, while in the 100 backstroke, Shaunna Dangremond (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino H.S.) had the second best time at 1:03.20.

Valparaiso (1-4) will compete in the Indiana Intercollegiates on Saturday morning, beginning at 11 a.m. CDT in West Lafayette, Ind.
