Valparaiso’s women’s swim team turned in a fourth place effort on Saturday morning at the Indiana Intercollegiates in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Crusaders finished with 180 total points while the host Boilermakers won the meet with 1,178 points.
Natalie Jarrett (Lebanon, Ind./Western Boone H.S.) finished eighth in the 200 individual medley, touching the wall in 2:15.29. Jarrett also turned in a ninth place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.82.
Laura Rickey (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville H.S.) and Amy Andracki (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect H.S.) also placed eighth on the day. Rickey did so in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.75 seconds while Andracki finished eighth in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:09.08.
Alizabeth Taubert (Bloomington, Ill./University H.S.) posted a top-10 finish in the 200 freestyle, placing ninth with a time of 2:03.69.
Stephanie Ferschl (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago H.S.) added a 10th place finish in the 500 free, turning in a time of 5:31.88.
Valparaiso will return to action in two weeks, traveling to Dayton, Ohio to face Wright State in dual meet action. The meet begins at 5 p.m. CDT on November 5.
