Nelson and Korellis Win Twice but Valpo Falls to Wisconsin-Milwaukee

Britt Nelson (Cortland, N.Y./Homer H.S.) and Rachel Korellis (Champaign, Ill./Centennial H.S.) each won a pair of events, but Valparaiso dropped its final home meet of the season 136-100 against Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon again at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.

Nelson posted a 3.72 second victory in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:57.95, while also cruising to a five-second win in the 500 free with a time of 5:22.17.

Korellis earned a victory by .38 seconds in the 50 free with a time of 25.77 seconds. The freshman also won the 100 free by .03 seconds, touching the wall in 55.71 seconds.

The Crusaders also won the final event, the 400 free relay, as Korellis, Nelson, Ashley Seale (Maryville, Tenn./Maryville H.S.), and Daniella Trombatore (Redding, Calif./Shasta H.S.) touched the wall in 3:44.83, nearly a second in front of the Panthers.

Valpo (2-3) will return to action next Saturday as the Crusaders travel to Charleston, Ill. for a 1 p.m. meet against Eastern Illinois.
