Sunday, January 25, 2004
Valparaiso dropped its second match in as many days on Sunday afternoon, as the Crusaders fell to DePaul 6-1 in Chicago, Ill.

The Blue Demons swept through the doubles competition to take the opening point. Rachel Janssen (Fort Wayne, Ind./Dwenger H.S.) and Jill Dierberg (St. Louis, Mo./Lutheran South H.S.) were involved in the tightest doubles contest of the day at the third spot, eventually falling 8-5.

DePaul also won the first five singles matches, all in straight sets to post the victory. The Crusaders registered their lone point of the match at sixth singles, winning that spot by default.

Valpo (0-2) will return to action on Saturday afternoon, with a 12 p.m. CST match at Kalamazoo.
