Valparaiso University Director of Athletics Mark LaBarbera announced today that Traci Young has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Life Skills Programs and will also serve as the athletic department’s Senior Woman Administrator.

“Traci has done an outstanding job supporting our student-athletes in their roles as students and community leaders,” said LaBarbera.  “We are excited to be giving her this expanded role within the athletic department.”

Young previously was the director of student-athlete life skills programs for the Valparaiso athletic department.  In her new role, Young will continue to direct the Crusaders’ life skills programs while also overseeing Valparaiso’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.  She will also represent Valparaiso with both the Horizon League and the NCAA.  In addition, Young will remain the Crusaders’ women’s tennis head coach, entering her fifth season in that position.

“I’m looking forward to represent Valpo athletics on campus, in the Horizon League, and within the NCAA,” said Young.  “I appreciate the opportunity that Mark has given me for this new role.”
