Freshman Kathleen Hebble (Sellersburg, Ind./Silver Creek) was named the Horizon League Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday. 

Hebble helped Valpo to a 4-3 victory over Nebraska-Omaha last Friday. She defeated the Mavs' Molly Matricardi, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles.

Hebble followed up Friday's triumph with a huge encore, scoring a singles and doubles victory versus IUPUI. Hebble teamed up with Kaitlyn Hamel (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain) at No. 1 to dispatch the Jaguar tandem of Valeriia Lavrenchuk/Samantha Mayer, 6-4. In singles action, Hebble defeated Abbey Neff, 6-3, 6-1.

The women's tennis team returns to the court Saturday versus Northern Illinois. First serve is scheduled for 2 pm in Rockford, Illinois.
