Junior Amanda Body (Harlan, Ky./Harlan) has been named the Horizon League’s Women’s Track and Field Athlete of the Week today after posting four individual top-two placements Saturday at the DePauw Invitational, helping Valparaiso to a second-place team finish.
Body tallied two event victories during the meet, taking top honors in the 200m dash (26.18 seconds) and the triple jump (36’7 ½”). She also registered runner-up finishes in the 55m dash (7.41 seconds, second-fastest time in school history) and the long jump (17’6 ¾”). In addition, the junior ran the leadoff leg of Valpo’s 4x400m relay squad that crossed the line first in 4:06.75, the third-quickest time all-time at Valpo.
Body and the rest of the Crusader women will return to the track Friday, February 15 at the Chicagoland Championships in Romeoville, Ill. The first event is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
