Senior Amanda Body (Harlan, Ky./Harlan) broke her own school record Saturday in the 200m dash while also posting two other top-ten finishes as the Valparaiso women’s track and field squad competed at the Dave Rankin Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.

Body ran to a third-place finish out of the 21 participants in the 200m dash, crossing the line in 25.06 seconds.  The time was four one-hundredths faster than her previous school mark, set during her sophomore campaign.  Body also placed third in the long jump with a leap of 17’11”, and registered a seventh-place showing in the 100m dash with a time of 12.51 seconds.

Freshman Natalie McCorriston (Lansdowne, Pa./Cardinal O’Hara) paced the Crusaders in the throws Saturday.  McCorriston set new personal bests in both the discus throw (103’0”) and hammer throw (126’10”), while also leading Valpo in the shot put with a mark of 33’0 ½”.

Valparaiso returns to the track next Saturday, April 25, as it competes at the Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianapolis.  The first event is slated for an 11 a.m. CDT start.
