Five Crusaders Earn All-Conference Honors

The Valparaiso University women's track and field team had five athletes named to the Mid-Continent Conference Indoor Track and Field All-Conference Team following the conclusion of this past weekend's conference championships.

Redshirt-freshman Amanda Meyer (Somerset, Wis./Somerset H.S.) finished in third place in the pole vault to earn all-conference honors, clearing 9'5 ¾". She also finished in ninth place in the long jump with a leap of 16'1", and placed 11th in the 400m dash with a time of 1:02.05.

All four members of Valpo's distance medley team also were named to the all-conference team after finishing in third place. Elizabeth Kinneer (Brighton, Mich./Brighton H.S.), Amy Mikel (Lemont, Ill./Fenwick H.S.), Jobeth Schmiesing (North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West H.S.), and Elizabeth Whiting (Parma, Mich./Western H.S.) finished in a time of 13:19.06.

As a team, the Crusaders finished in fifth place at the championships.
