Valpo Places Four Women on All-Conference Team

Valparaiso University's women's track and field team had four student-athletes named to the Mid-Continent Conference All-Conference Team following the completion of the outdoor championships this weekend.

Jessica Cherrington (Roseberg, Ore./Umpqua Valley Christian H.S.) won the javelin with a toss of 132'3" to earn a spot on the team for the first time. The sophomore bettered her nearest competitor by 3'11".

Martha Josephson (Detroit Lakes, Minn./Detroit Lakes H.S.) finished third in the high jump to earn all-conference honors. The sophomore cleared 5'3" setting a new school record.

Amanda Meyer (Somerset, Wis./Somerset H.S.) and Amy Mikel (Lemont, Ill./Fenwick H.S.) each earned all-conference honors as well. Meyer finished second in the pole vault clearing 10'5 ½" while Mikel placed third in the 1,500m with a time of 4:39.65.
