Three Crusaders Honored by Mid-Continent Conference

Melanie Wilson (Saint Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain H.S.), Danielle Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.), and Ashley Billstrom (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall H.S.) have been named All Mid-Continent Conference after impressive performances at the Mid-Con Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend.

Wilson earned the conference honors for the second consecutive year, recording two podium finishes over the three-day meet. Wilson broke her own school record in the triple jump on her way to finishing second, leaping 39'4". She also posted a third-place finish in the 100m hurdles, crossing the line in 14.90.

Nunnelly received the conference accolades for her performance in the 1,500m run Saturday. Nunnelly finished the race in 4:44.51, good for a third-place finish.

Billstrom won the 3,000m steeplechase Friday, completing the course in 10:51.01, lowering her own school record. By virtue of the victory, Billstrom qualifies to compete at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. The steeplechase will be run May 27 at 6:45 p.m.
