Valpo Relay Sets School Mark on Day 1 at Findlay

Valparaiso's 4x800m relay finished second setting a new school record to lead Valparaiso on day one of the Findlay Indoor Track and Field Classic held on Friday in Findlay, Ohio.

The relay of Ashley Billstrom (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall H.S.), Danielle Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.), Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest H.S.), and Maggie Zellner (Downers Grove, Ill./Benet Academy) turned in a time of 9:30.47 to finish behind Windsor in the race. The team's time bettered the 2003 school mark of 9:39.0 by more than eight seconds.

Renae Swift (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) finished seventh in the 5,000m run with her time of 18:28.51. Amanda Hyttel (Racine, Wis./William Horlick H.S.) was the Brown and Gold's top performer in the weight throw with a toss of 30'4 ".

Valpo will return to the track on Saturday morning for day two of competition with events beginning at 8:30 a.m. CST.
