Melanie Wilson (Saint Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain H.S.) registered two wins, while Danielle Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) and Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest H.S.) posted two top-threes apiece as Valparaiso finished fourth in the Chicago Invitational on Saturday.

Wilson notched her first win of the day in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.54 seconds. She followed that up with a jump of 36'6 ¾" in the triple jump for her second victory.

Nunnelly and Rolf were nearly inseparable in the distance events. In the one mile run, Nunnelly led the way, finishing second with a time of 5:01.45, while Rolf came home third in 5:06.19. Nunnelly was just .05 behind the race winner and improved upon the fourth-best time in school history that she had previously held.

The tables were turned in the 3000 meter run, as Rolf posted the third-fastest time in Crusader history, finishing as the runner-up in 10:15.59. Nunnelly followed close behind in third place with a time of 10:20.46.

Amanda Body (Harlan, Ky./Harlan H.S.) also contributed to the Brown and Gold's successful day, recording three top-fives. Body kicked off her day with a run of 7.62 seconds in the 55 meter dash, good for third place and followed by teammate Patricia Kloth (Medford, Wis./Medford Area H.S.) in fourth in 7.64 seconds. Body also posted a fourth in the triple jump, leaping 34'3", and a fifth in the long jump with a jump of 16'11 ¼".

Valparaiso returns to action next weekend, traveling to Findlay, Ohio to take place in the Findlay Invitational on January 27th and 28th.
