Valparaiso University's Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V Second Team, as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Crusader senior Ashley Billstrom (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall) concluded her outstanding career Saturday evening at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Columbia, Mo., placing 14th in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:47.16.


Lane Competes at NCAA Mideast Regional

Lakisha Lane (Topeka, Kan./Highland Park) competed in the preliminary round of the 400m hurdles Friday evening at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Columbia, Mo., finishing her heat in 1:07.81.


Six Crusaders Earn Mid-Con Honors

After finishing in third place at the 2007 Mid-Continent Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the best finish in program history, the Crusader women's track and field squad had six athletes named to the All-Conference team, led by 2007 Outdoor Newcomer of the Year Lakisha Lane (Topeka, Kan./Highland Park).

Valparaiso edged UMKC by one point Saturday for third place at the 2007 Mid-Continent Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Kansas City, Mo. The third-place finish is the best ever by a Crusader women's squad at the outdoor championship meet. Leading the way Saturday was freshman Lakisha Lane (Topeka, Kan./Highland Park), who earned Mid-Con Newcomer of the Year honors after winning the 400m hurdles.
