Junior Sarah Drozdowski (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) finished first in the weight throw and third in the shot put at the Gill Athletics Final Qualifier on Friday at Kenosha, Wis.

Drozdowski’s best mark of 54’5” in the weight throw was more than seven inches better than the next closest competitor.

In the shot put, Drozdowski’s distance of 44’8” was good enough to finish third and was her second-best mark of the season.

Valparaiso opens the outdoor season on Saturday, Mar. 23 at the Gene and Rose Edmonds Invitational in Rensselaer, Ind.
