Valparaiso University track & field athlete Anne Mou (Bloomingdale, Ill./ Lake Park) has received Missouri Valley Conference recognition as a recipient of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award. Mou was among 10 student-athletes honored by the conference for the 2019 spring season on Wednesday.
Mou, a junior in Valpo’s physician assistant program who owns a 3.92 cumulative GPA, has earned a spot on the dean’s list every semester of college. She has also earned Presidential Academic Honors for Outstanding Student-Athletes in 2017-18 and Presidential Academic Honors for Outstanding Academic Achievement for 2018-19. On top of that, Mou is a recipient of the University’s Presidential Scholarship.
Mou’s record of community service is highlighted by her service learning in Health of Central America. Additionally, Mou is a volunteer coach at her alma mater, Lake Park High School, and has volunteered with Valpo track & field for a church renovation and at Popcorn Fest in Valpo.
On the track, Mou has compiled top marks of 37-2½ (11.34m) in the triple jump, 16-2½ (4.94m) in the long jump and 96-8 (29.47m) in the javelin throw.
