Valpo Athletics Enjoys Another Strong Semester in the Classroom

Valparaiso University student-athletes upheld their track record of academic success during the Spring 2024 semester.

Every Valpo program boasted a 3.0 or better team grade point average and each team owns a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. The department posted a 3.30 cumulative grade point average, up from 3.23 during the fall semester. Valpo Athletics also saw an increase in the number of student-athletes with GPAs of 3.0 or above as 283 reached that threshold this semester, including 33 with perfect 4.0 GPAs for the term.  

The announcement of the semester GPAs represents the cumulation of another outstanding year of academic success for the Beacons. Valpo Athletics earned a 93 percent Graduation Success Rate and had eight programs receive perfect scores as the NCAA released GSR data. Allie Anderson (soccer) and Caleb VanArragon (men’s golf) were MVC Elite 17 Award winners, while Nicole Norfolk was named to United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Third Team, Evan Annis was honored with Pioneer Football League Scholar-Athlete of the Year and VanArragon was tabbed MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’s golf. A total of 142 student-athletes earned Valparaiso University Presidential Academic Honors, while 175 were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll for the 2022-23 year.
