Lundeen Tabbed Horizon League Pitcher of the Week

A four-hitter against Youngstown State netted senior Dalton Lundeen (Streamwood, Ill./Streamwood) Horizon League Pitcher of the Week accolades Monday. The left-hander scattered four singles and did not walk a batter as he led the Crusaders to a 4-0 victory in the series opener versus the Penguins last Thursday.

Lundeen, who became Valpo's all-time leader in innings pitched on May 13th at Youngstown State, went the distance for the second time this season. Thursday represented his fourth career shutout. He lowered his earned-run average to 3.12 and won his 21st career game in the process.

This is the fifth time in Lundeen's career that he has earned the honor.

Lundeen and the Crusaders (27-26, 17-12 Horizon) will open play in the Horizon League Championship Wednesday in Dayton versus the sixth-seeded Northern Kentucky Norse (20-33, 9-21 Horizon). First pitch from Nischwitz Stadium is slated for 4:00 pm ET/3:00 pm CT. ESPN3 will carry live coverage of all games this week.
