ESPN Broadcast Schedule Announced For Men’s Basketball

Two regular season Missouri Valley Conference games on ESPN2 highlight the ESPN broadcast schedule for the Valparaiso University men’s basketball team in the 2017-18 season, as announced today by the conference office.

Valpo will make a pair of Saturday night appearances in January on ESPN2 as the schedule flips to Valley conference play. On Saturday, Jan. 13, the Crusaders will play at UNI at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Two Saturdays later, on Jan. 27, Valpo will head to Normal, Ill. to face Illinois State on ESPN2 for a 9 p.m. tipoff. The possibility of another ESPN2 game exists as well, as one of the five MVC games on the final day of the regular season – Saturday, Feb. 24, when the Crusaders play at Drake – will be chosen for an ESPN2 telecast.

The Crusaders will host at least one conference game on ESPNU as well, as Illinois State visits the ARC on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. Valpo has the potential to host another ESPNU contest on Sunday, Jan. 21 against Loyola, as the game against the Ramblers is one of two options for ESPN to choose from that afternoon – one of which will air on ESPNU, and the other of which will air on The Valley on ESPN3 with conference-provided talent.

Both the men’s program and the women’s program also have one additional The Valley on ESPN3 broadcast which will feature conference-provided talent – the women when they host Loyola on Friday, Jan. 12, and the men on Wednesday, Jan. 17 when they travel to Missouri State. All MVC conference games and non-conference home games which are not chosen for linear broadcast will be delivered exclusively by The Valley on ESPN3 – the league’s co-branded digital network with ESPN – as well.

The remainder of the Crusaders’ broadcast schedule for the 2017-18 season will be finalized in the coming days, as the conference announces its CBS Sports Network and FOX Sports/MVC TV selections.
