Air Force used four second half goals to break a halftime tie on its way to a 5-1 victory over Valparaiso on Sunday afternoon at Cadet Soccer Stadium.

The hosts got on the scoreboard first in the Falcon Invitational as Dan Walsh found the back of the net in the fourth minute of play. Valpo's Mark Korba (Portage, Ind./Portage H.S.) knotted the match at one just before halftime he pushed a rebound past keeper Mike Taylor after Jon Flugstad's (San Antonio, Texas/Robert E. Lee H.S.) free kick snuck through Taylor's arms. Despite being outshot 9-3 in the opening half, the Crusaders entered intermission tied.

Casey Chronister opened the second half scoring with what would prove to be the match winner at the 50:27 mark. Following a corner kick, Marcus Sagastume made it 3-1 Falcons with his first tally of the season. David Auston added the fourth goal on a penalty kick in the 64th minute, while Daniel Wasson added the fifth goal in the 82nd minute.

Air Force (2-0) outshot Valpo 25-9 for the match, holding an 11-5 advantage on goal.

Korba and Flugstad were each named to the all-tournament team following the completion of the tournament.
