In a match that lasted almost two and a half hours, Valpo held on Friday night to defeat Northeastern (25-30, 30-19, 30-26, 28-30, 18-16) on the first night of the Crusader Classic.

Michelle Robinson led the Crusaders with 18 kills and Elissa Malthaner added 17. Marion Hansen led the team with 23 digs. Cyndi Norman had 52 assists in the game.

Erin Spangler led the Huskies with 16 kills, and Kelly Cognac had 33 digs.
