Liz Mikos (Dundee, Ill./Jacobs H.S.) and Amy Palash (Winfield, Ill./Saint Francis H.S.) received Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week honors this week after helping Valparaiso capture the Blue Demon Invitational.

Mikos was named Mid-Con Defensive Player of the Week after her record-setting weekend. She became Valpo's all-time blocks leader versus Belmont, and also hit .733 against Evansville, fourth-best in a three-game match in Crusader history. For the week, Mikos recorded 47 kills (3.36/game) and 26 blocks (1.86/game) while hitting at a .355 rate. Mikos was also named to the Blue Demon Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Palash was recognized as the Mid-Con Offensive Player of the Week after a stellar weekend of play at the Blue Demon Invitational. In the title-clinching match against DePaul, Palash posted a double-double with 17 kills and 11 digs while hitting .375. On the week, she registered 49 kills (3.77/game) and 38 digs (2.92/game), hit .304, and added 10 blocks.
