The Valpo women’s basketball program was recognized for its strong performance in the classroom during the 2023-24 academic year on Wednesday by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

The Beacons earned Special Mention notice from the WBCA as they posted a 3.506 cumulative team GPA last year, making them one of 44 Division I programs with a team GPA of at least 3.5.

Valpo was one of eight Missouri Valley Conference programs recognized by the WBCA on Wednesday — three of which were ranked in the D-I Top 25 Team Honor Roll and five of which earned Special Mention notice.
