Valpo softball graduate Regi Hecker (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Blue Springs South) added another accolade to her list of honors following her tremendous senior season, as she was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team on Tuesday.

For her play on the field, Hecker was a Second Team All-MVC honoree as a senior. She paced the Beacons in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, home runs and RBIs in 2024. A member of the MVC All-Defensive Team in 2023, Hecker was a stalwart in right field all season long as well.

In the classroom, Hecker held a 3.55 GPA as a nursing major. She earned Scholar-Athlete First Team honors this year after receiving Honorable Mention recognition a season ago. Hecker has received Valpo Presidential Academic Honors and been named to the MVC Honor Roll during her time at Valpo.
