Rachel Janssen starred for the Valparaiso women’s tennis team throughout the mid-2000’s.

A three-time First Team All Mid-Continent Conference honoree in her final three seasons, she was named Mid-Con Freshman of the Year as a rookie as well.  During her tenure as a Crusader, Janssen helped lead Valpo to three Mid-Con regular season titles, a pair of Mid-Con tournament championships and two trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Janssen ranks second all-time in Crusader history with 62 singles victories, and also ranks third at Valpo with 51 doubles wins.  An 11-time Mid-Con Athlete of the Week, Janssen received Athlete of the Month honors from the league office in April of 2005 as well. 

Since her graduation from Valparaiso in 2007, Janssen has remained an active tennis player, having been ranked in the top-5 in the state of Texas in both singles and doubles and currently ranked among the top-250 nationally in singles.  Janssen is currently employed as a mortgage tracking specialist.
