Joseph Scheele (Mahomet, Ill. / Mahomet-Seymour) paced the Valpo men and cracked the program's all-time top five in the 8k at Friday's Gans Creek Classic, hosted by Mizzou in Columbia, Mo.
How It Happened
- Raoult finished with a time of 21:31.3 in the women's 6k, outdoing her PR of 21:53.7 from last week at Illinois State. She improved upon her time that already ranked third in program history.
- Raoult was followed in the women's race by Vivian Rahmel (Springfield, Ill. / Sacred Heart-Griffin), who was second on the team at 23:07.8. The team's next-best time came from freshman Kensington Black (Franklin, Ohio / Franklin Senior) at 23:12.1.
- In the men's 8K, it was Scheele providing Valpo's top time at 24:40.1. His time allowed him to move into fourth on the program's all-time list, behind only Evan Walda, Alexander Bruno and Ignacio Veloz-Bonilla.
- The team's second-best time came courtesy of Karson Hollander (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Crystal Lake) at 24:59.7, narrowly off his PR set last week. He was followed by Brooks Julian (Olney, Ill. / Richland County [Southeastern]), who crossed the finish in 25:47.7.
