- Eastus scored her second goal of the match in the 48th minute to cap the scoring.
Inside the Match
- The loss snapped Valpo's four-match unbeaten streak against the Panthers, as the Beacons had been 3-0-1 in the last four meetings before Sunday.
- Valpo has lost its first three Valley games for the first time since 2019.
- The Beacons were outshot 23-2 by the Panthers on Sunday. Eight of UNI's efforts were on frame, with redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Kate Sheridan (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) making four saves.
Thoughts From Coach Marovich
"We've had a stretch of games we've come out on the front foot with a really strong start, and we had that in the first couple minutes today, getting a dangerous ball into the six. But then we get caught in a decision in the back a couple minutes later and go down 1-0. Then we're back to where we were early in the year, chasing the game — it's hard to recover when you give up goals early, and it was an old lesson learned again today."
