Eight members of the Valparaiso University football program garnered College Sports Communicators Academic All-District recognition, as released by the organization on Tuesday.

Redshirt senior defensive lineman
Sam Hafner (Green Bay, Wis. / De Pere) garnered the honor for the third consecutive year, while redshirt junior running back
Ryan Mann (Vernon Hills, Ill. / Vernon Hills [Northern Illinois]) was recognized for the second straight season. Valpo's first-time CSC Academic All-District honorees included redshirt sophomore defensive lineman
Alex Goworowski (Chicago, Ill. / Saint Patrick), senior linebacker
Jimmy Pouba (Chicago, Ill. / Lyons [College of Sequoias]), redshirt junior
Evan Jernegan (Altadena, Calif. / St. Francis), redshirt sophomore offensive lineman
Niko Paic (Crown Point, Ind. / Crown Point), senior wide receiver
Brandon Jimenez (Suffern, N.Y. / Don Bosco Prep [Albany]) and sophomore offensive lineman
Noah Kline (Loveland, Ohio / Loveland).

Hafner (biology/chemistry), Mann (finance), Goworowski (mechanical engineering / mathematics), Pouba (economics), Jernegan (communication and visual arts), Paic (finance), Jimenez (MBA) and Kline (civil engineering) all meet CSC academic all-district standards by virtue of having a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better. To qualify for the honor, individuals must also be starters or important reserves, have competed in at least 90 percent of their team's games or started at least 66 percent of their team's games and have reached at least sophomore academic and athletic status.
