The Valparaiso University track & field team had several student-athletes make the trip to Allendale, Mich. for Grand Valley State's GVSU Big Meet – Friday. A pair of runners established personal bests in their events.
How It Happened
- In the men's 3000, sophomore Karson Hollander (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Crystal Lake) stopped the clock in 8:26.61, establishing a new personal best and finishing third in a 19-runner field.
- On the women's side, fifth-year senior Chante Dixon (Benoni, South Africa / Kempton Park [UTSA]) also turned in a PR in the 3000, placing 15th of 22 at 10:13.92.
- In the women's 5,000, freshman Kensington Black (Franklin, Ohio / Franklin Senior) enjoyed a top-3 finish of 23 at 17:56.54 in his collegiate debut.
- In addition, sophomore Tim Jochum (Glen Ellyn, Ill. / Glenbard South) placed 18th of 30 in the 800m early section at 1:56.40.
