Valpo men's swimming junior
Jackson Oostman (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy) became the first swimmer in program history to swim in a postseason competition last week, as he took to the pool for four events at the 2025 CSCAA National Invitational Championship in Ocala, Fla.
Â
Oostman opened the meet on Wednesday morning by posting a time of 23.81 in the 50 back. Thursday morning, the junior covered the 100 back in 50.85. Friday morning, Oostman swam in a pair of events back-to-back, with only 10 minutes between swims — he recorded a time of 52.41 in the 100 IM, and turned around in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.45.

The postseason competition concludes a stellar junior season for Oostman. The junior was a two-time MVC Swimmer of the Week and had four program-record swims at the MVC Championships.
