Sophomore Nora Meek (Beavercreek, Ohio / Beavercreek) leads the Valparaiso University women's golf team through the first two rounds of the Payne Stewart Memorial, hosted by Missouri State at the par-71, 6141-yard Twin Oaks CC in Springfield, Mo.
 
How It Happened

• Meek carded a career-low 76 (+5) in the opening round to pace the team. She followed with an 80 (+9) in Round 2 to finish the day at 156, tied for 37^th of 66 on the player leaderboard. Meek eagled the par-4 fifth hole in Round 2 after an opening round where she had three birdies on the front nine.
• Senior Keira Cotter (Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada / Guelph [Lake Superior State]) is second on the team through 36 holes at 160 (79-81), 50^th overall.
• Freshman Katelyn McCoy (Chesterton, Ind. / Chesterton) carded the team's best score in Round 2 with a 77 (+6), one off her career best. She made a 10-stroke improvement from Round 1 to Round 2.
• Valpo holds a team score of 633 (315-318), 10^th on the leaderboard. Oral Roberts holds the team lead at 587 with 18 holes remaining, while Clementina Castano of the host Bears is atop the player leaderboard at 140.

"Nora had a great start today and was able to put together a lot of good golf holes! Katelyn had a great comeback too. Hopefully everyone gets a little of Nora's luck tomorrow and we have a better day and gain a little momentum early as a team!"
