Delgado, Rogers Earn First Team All-MVC in Doubles; Delgado Adds Second Team All-MVC in Singles

Valparaiso University tennis sophomore Andrea Delgado (Richmond, Texas / Foster [Dallas Baptist]) and senior Madi Rogers (Clearwater, Fla. / Florida Virtual [Bradley]) were named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team at No. 3 Doubles, while Delgado earned All-MVC Second Team honors at No. 5 Singles as the league office announced its postseason honors on Thursday.

Delgado and Rogers posted a 4-2 record in conference play at No. 3 Doubles with victories over Bradley, UIC, Murray State and UNI. Both players thrived after transferring into the program as Rogers arrived at Valpo for her final season after three years at Bradley, while Delgado came in for her sophomore season after one year at Dallas Baptist.

Delgado all-mvc second team

Delgado earned All-MVC Second Team honors in singles based upon her 18-6 overall record including a 16-3 mark in dual matches and 5-2 record in conference play. She enjoyed conference wins over Bradley, UIC, Belmont, Drake and UNI. Delgado finished the season on a three-match winning streak and prevailed in five of her final six matches with the only defeat coming on a third-set tiebreak.

Delgado's 18 singles wins paced the team and she was one away from cracking the program's all-time top 10. Her .750 singles winning percentage ranked tied for ninth in program history, as she became just the third Valpo player in the last 20 years to win at least 75 percent of her singles matches in a season, joining Jelena Vujanic (2017-18 and 2018-19) and Olivia Czerwonka (2023-24).

Delgado and Rogers became the first Valpo doubles tandem to achieve All-MVC First Team honors. Delgado became just the third Valpo player to earn All-MVC First or Second Team recognition since the program joined the league.
