The Valparaiso University tennis team has announced its end-of-season awards for the 2026 campaign, led by senior
Moira Silva (Houston, Texas / Westside) earning the squad's Most Valuable Player Award.

Alexandra Popa (Glenview, Ill. / Glenbrook South) was named the team's Most-Improved Player, while sophomore
Andrea Delgado (Richmond, Texas / Foster [Dallas Baptist]) earned the team's Scholar-Athlete Award.

In addition, sophomore
Lacey Tanner (Fort Pierce, Fla. / Florida Virtual School) and junior
Jolene Fernandes (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) were named the "Valpo Award" winners, an honor presented annually to the individual who best exemplifies work ethic, attitude, determination, passion, being a great teammate and being teachable and coachable.

Silva went 16-7 in singles this season to finish her career with a 68-38 (.654) singles record. She closed her career with a 57-46 (.553) mark in doubles play. She ranked second in program history in career singles wins and third in career doubles triumphs.

Popa played mostly No. 2 Singles and No. 1 Doubles as a freshman, winning eight singles matches and 11 doubles matches. Delgado owns a 3.95 cumulative grade point average in finance.
