Three members of the 2025-26 Valparaiso University men's golf team were recognized for their academic and athletic prowess on Monday as NCAA Division-I Cobalt Golf All-American Scholars were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Rising senior
Adam Melliere (Zionsville, Ind. / Zionsville), rising redshirt senior
Ryan Somerville (Aurora, Ontario / Aurora) and rising junior
Rob Politza (Lemont, Ill. / Lemont Township) earned the recognition. Melliere did so for the second straight season, while Somerville and Politza were first-time honorees.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
