2024-25: Named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team… Golfed in 17 rounds over nine tournaments… Turned in a season scoring average of 74.04… Finished his sophomore season with a career average of 74.38 that ranks fifth in program history… Had 10 rounds of par or better, the second most on the team… Carded a season-best 68 (-4) in the second round of the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on April 1 and had a 68 (-3) in the third round of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on March 25… Closed the regular-season with his best 54-hole tournament score of the year, a 214 (+1) at the Wright State Invitational (April 13-14)… Had his highest finished of the year at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship (April 20-22), placing 17th at 220 (+4)… Earned Valparaiso University Presidential Academic Honors.
2023-24: Finished with the team’s third best scoring average during his freshman season by boasting a 74.71 while golfing 28 rounds over 10 tournaments... Earned All-MVC honors by tying for fourth in a 50-player field at the MVC Championship (April 21-23), posting a 54-hole score of 213 (-3; 72-68-73) in that event, with the Round-2 score marking his best 18 holes of the season... Also went under 70 in the first round of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate (69) and the first round of the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate (69)... Had three top-15 finishes – tying for 14th at the Valpo Fall Invitational in September (226) and tying for 15th of 100 at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate in April (143 over 36 holes) before his MVC Championship showing... His 36-hole tournament score in relation to par of one under at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate (April 1-2) ranked tied for seventh in program history.
Before Valpo: Earned all-state honors in 2022 after finishing in ninth at the IHSAA State Finals (73-74)… Garnered the Zionsville boys golf Mental Attitude Award in both 2021 and 2022 and was also an all-conference performer in 2021… Placed third in the Sectional round of the IHSAA postseason (71) before he placed third in the Regional round in 2022 (72)… 2021 Indiana State Junior Championship Stroke Play second place (68-71) and match play t-9th, 2022 Indiana State junior Championship stroke play fifth place (68-76) and match play t-5th, 2021 Golfweek at Indiana University first place (74-72), 2021 Indiana Golf Central Masters Championship first place (70-74), 2022 AJGA UHY Detroit Junior ninth place (76-72-72), 2022 Golfweek Junior Tour at Purdue fourth place (75-67) and 2022 Golfweek Junior Tour at Ball State third place (73-73)… Posted a 2022 scoring average of 73.4… Also thrives in the classroom, where he owned a 4.03 cumulative grade point average in high school… Played high school basketball in 2019-20 and 2020-21 and also played baseball growing up.
Personal: Got to play baseball in Cooperstown, N.Y. in 2017… Hobbies include basketball, tennis, golf and weightlifting… Son of Gary and Kim Melliere… Has a sister, Aly.
