Addy Jarvis

Addy Jarvis joined the Valpo softball program in July 2024. She is entering her second year as the program's pitching coach after leading the hurlers to significant improvement in her first season on staff.

In her first season as pitching coach in 2025, Jarvis helped the Beacons to their winningest season since 2018 and an 11-win improvement over the previous year, much of it due to strength in the circle. Valpo posted its lowest team ERA since 2018, shaving a full two runs off the ERA from the previous season. The Beacons' opponents' batting average dropped 60 points from the prior year, opponents' OPS dropped 131 points and the pitchers tallied 124 more strikeouts.

Under her tutelage, Azalya Lopez was named Second Team All-MVC at P/UT after posting the 10th-best opponents' batting average by a Valpo pitcher in program history and the third-best in the last 28 years. Lopez and Erin Metz both tied for the MVC lead in saves, while Lopez ranked fifth in the Valley in strikeouts and opponents' batting average, as well as eighth in ERA and wins.

Jarvis spent her final season of collegiate softball at Miami (Ohio) in 2024, earning First Team All-MAC honors in the circle. She posted a 19-2 record over 30 appearances, breaking the program’s individual single-season winning percentage record. Jarvis helped the RedHawks claim MAC regular season and tournament titles, throwing a one-hit shutout against Ball State in the championship game of the tournament. She also tossed a shutout against Dayton in the NCAA Tournament.

Prior to Miami, Jarvis spent four years at Illinois, playing three seasons for the Fighting Illini. She appeared in 58 games over those three seasons, starting on 29 occasions, and racked up 18 victories, including a win in the Big Ten Tournament over Wisconsin in 2023. Jarvis began her collegiate career in 2019 at Youngstown State, where she was the Horizon League Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-League honoree as she went 12-11 with a 2.58 ERA and a program single-season record 218 strikeouts.

Jarvis coached three summers as an assistant coach for Thunder Elite Premier – Steiner and brings international playing experience to the Beacons’ coaching staff as well. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology and went on to complete her Master of Science in Management.
