2023 Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year
2025: Played in seven games and made three starts at quarterback… Went 40-of-65 through the air for 400 yards and two touchdowns… Ran for 148 yards on 48 carries… Had passing TDs on Aug. 30 (vs. VUL) and Sept. 13 (at WIU) and a rushing TD on Oct. 18 at St. Thomas… Had a season-high 14 completions on Oct. 11 vs. Dayton… Ran for a season-high 79 yards on Sept. 13 vs. Western Illinois.
2024: Played in 10 games and made six starts at quarterback… Earned the team’s Most-Improved Player Award… Was the PFL’s nominee for National Freshman of the Week honors on Sept. 8… Checked in at No. 2 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays on Sept. 7 for his incredible touchdown leap at Youngstown State. He was also featured as SportsCenter’s Most Acrobatic Play of the Day, was highlighted on the NCAA FCS X account and was No. 4 on College Football Final’s Plays of the Day… Went 89-of-158 through the air for 978 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 398 yards and three scores… Ranked 12th in the PFL in rushing yards per game at 39.8… Had a season-high 11 completions on three occasions (Sept. 21 vs. Roosevelt, Oct. 5 vs. Drake and Nov. 23 vs. Davidson)… Had two rushing touchdowns and one passing on Sept. 7 at Youngstown State. Had season highs in both rushing yards (120) and passing yards (160) in that game against the Penguins… Threw a game-winning, 17-yard touchdown pass with all zeros on the clock to lift Valpo over Davidson 18-17 in the Nov. 23 season finale, a play that was prominently featured on ESPN and was part of SportsCenter’s Top 10 that evening.
2023: Saw action in two games, making his collegiate debut with a one-yard run on Oct. 7 at Drake before making his Brown Field debut with a rushing attempt on Oct. 14 vs. Morehead State... Retained four years of eligibility... Named Scout Team Offensive Player of the Year.
Prep: Four-year varsity letter winner... Team MVP, two-time first team all-league choice, all-CIF first team, all-state... Had 228 passing yards, 220 rushing yards and six total TDs in a game against Murrieta Valley... Team captain as a junior and senior... Also competed in track & field during his junior and senior years... All-Academic First Team, owns a GPA over 3.5.
Personal: Son of Amanda Hicks and Aaron Tyler... Has an older brother, Greg Tucker, and two older sisters – Dynasty Batts and Yerneatha Tyler... Enjoys working out, fashion, video games and music.
